This is horrible. I saw on CNN a couple more instances like this. One van clipped someone and a firetruck ran straight into a guy and probably killed him. Didn't even slow down. Fuckers.

This was one of 20 vans stolen from the US Embassy in Cairo. Pretty crazy. Can't wait to see how many blame the US for this one.

I am not defending him, but he might have had 15 passengers in that van (women? children?). Injuring a dozen or so to save others could be justifiable. When it comes to life/death situation most of us would do things that normally would be considered reckless or downright insane.

^Possibly, the situation there is crazy so who knows how desperate they could've been. But I don't think those drivers/scumf*ckers would've stopped whether they had injured people on board or not. Even if I was rushing to the hospital with a van full of people I'd at least have the decency as a human being to not run over and possibly kill someone.

Some of the people in this thread make me facepalm. The protestors in Egypt have been relatively peaceful (not denying violence on both sides, but the great majority of violence on the side of the protestors has been reactionary from what I've seen). On the other hand, the government has hired thugs along with plain-clothes police to intimidate the citizens in hopes they'll back down.

Now, considering we've seen protestors shot in cold blood, had Molotov cocktails thrown at them, attacked with swords/knives/machetes, etc., which do you think is the more likely scenario: the driver being genuinely scared, or the driver just not caring and running over people because intimidating the crowds is what he's being paid to do?
