NZ man Lawson coming in beside MAX will make joe public think that its a wake up call seing how the already gone Checo folded though admittedly being in a on/off car that only MAX could adapt to like a duck to water.
The season I think will involve a lot of trick driving trying to stay within the rules on the border and being much closer with MAX, Charlie and Lew with Lando there causing a traffic jam but I have high hopes the RB21 will come through. A 1-2 for the fresh RB21 down under without Checo is not an unreasonable expectation.

Max had the fastest car for the end of 2022, all of 23, and Half of 24. Padding his stats vs a mediocre teammate.

Last season McLaren had best race pace starting in Miami. Towards the end of season Ferrari came on strong. Most of season RB was at best 3rd on grid in race pace, even 4th behind Merc some weekends. RB really seemed to be struggling with the car setup last year.

Indeed. RB had the fastest car 5 out of 24 GP's (up to the Chinese GP, and indeed it all changed when McLaren implemented their updates in Miami), so that's roughly 21% of the season..
How some people think that's half...

If you read back on the news, even McLaren didn't expect those updates to be thàt succesful . They (Stella) already stated in february 2024 (so pre season) that their car wasn't completely finished and that a few projects were still running and would be implemented as upgrade packeages (the major one in Miami), and that it would take them all year to get close to RB's performance.
