Datsyuk was still our best player besides Zetterberg that last game (Z came up huge on D even though he didn't accumulate the points like Datsyuk), but you could see that Datsyuk is suffering on the defensive side of the puck. He wasn't able to create the turnovers he usually does, and I think that had a lot to do with why our chances rushing back up ice were so limited. Detroit takes for granted how many odd man rushes or even rushes into the zone we get just based on his defensive play alone. He'll be better for Game 6 though.

Z is amazing at puck possession and killing off time at the end, just like we needed in Game 5. The way he sticks his arm out to block without getting holding calls, always fun to watch.

Dats probably has a wrist injury, but after the last game I have no worries.

Modano is officially in for Franzen...I just hope he steps up.

Hopefully the Wings can take the next two. Can't stand SJ being a Ducks season ticket holder. They dive and and are cowards when pressed with a physical challenge. As far as Franzen's injury I'd play Maltby before Modano as Modano wants/needs open ice to be effective at this stage and that's one thing you won't get never mind the need to effective and responsible defensively. No Show Joe's legacy should rub off on a few other Sharks. Wings have got to make the conference fianls or I won't have anyone to cheer or respect, Cannots do not impress me at all. Always loved the Ducks Wings battles in the playoffs and no matter who won you had to respect both teams.

Maltby is retired. Modano will do great with Pavel just watch. He has a great knack on the puck and with Pavels skill they could make amazing things happen. Lets hope !

It was unbelievable though ha! The Wings just keep coming! When teams dominate like that and get scored on in the 3rd to be down it can be totally deflating. The Wings didn't panic and kept to the game plan. I love this team! No matter what happens Thursday im proud of them for the way they've faced the adversity.

Anyways back to Abby... I couldnt believe he would go out and just grab Boyle's face like that. He has to be the biggest moron ive ever seen. I honestly have always like Abdelkader and for most of the season he did great. However, this series has just been a mess and its clear his head isnt there. Those horrible penalties are the worst part, but he's had problems moving the puck as well especially in our own zone. He needs to be benched. Maybe he can watch one and clear his head a bit.

I think it was good to see how Franzen's linemates were less burdened without having to make up for his hobbled ass. Honestly, if he's not close to 100% for Game 7, they need to let him sit.

Also, as far as Abdelkader goes, he went to MSU, so I don't expect much out of him as far as common sense goes. Let's get Draper back on the ice; he's got plenty of experience and won't fuck up in the capacity that Abdelkader could. We could also use a real boost in the faceoff circle; Z is getting his ass kicked.

Yup I agree with all of that. We definitely need someone better in the faceoff circle. I think Drapes needs to work on that faceoff skill and get in there to win draws especially on power plays. Bench Abby. Keep Franzen out if he's hobbled at all. And play the way they did in Game 6 and we will win for sure. The Sharks just arent as good as people think they are. If it wasnt for Niemi we would have won this series in Game 5/6 (I think they outplayed us in Game 2).
