What specific vehicle & year do you have which this notice is referring to?

Also, this might be aimed to the UK market only.

It is also applicable to the rest of the EU and the USA.

I got it on the CarFax Car Care app yesterday, as soon as my dealer registered my X1 with CarFax. But it says “Status: Remedy Not Available”.

No notification from dealer or from the BMW app yet. I am in California.

I saw this on some forum and also appeared on the my garage site. Called the dealer and they confirmed that a recall was in place. Sent my car to shop(USA), turns out it was a recall for something related to tail light. And remedy is unavailable for IBD. However it is supposed to come soon.

Got ours yesterday.....

Having read it, I think the gyst of it is 'immediately do nothing'.

Wait for the next letter and don't panic if the brake warning flashes up, but drive carefully if it does

They did the fix on ours back in mid-Feb when it went in for something else.

Yes, got mine yesterday as well - my car is a 30e M Sport, built May 2023. I had been rather pleased with myself that the car had been fault free up to now but at least they say it’s safe to drive - I hope they’re right😳. Has anybody experienced the fault on their car?

Looks like it could be a long wait for a fix.

Nope, not heard anything yet. Is it all models as many of those already responded seem to have PHEV versions of the X1. Could this be a PHEV issue only?

It applies across all models, some in this thread are in the US and they only have the ICE vehicles.

Got a notice (forgot how I got it) in late February about the integrated brake system recall.

Anyway, the BMW Service Dept called and left a reminder message on my phone back on March 13th about doing the recall when I come in for my first servicing on April 11th.

I take it back, "1STOP024983 - FX GX Intergrated Breaking System" was done in mid-Feb, but needs to go back in for "34670200-HOLD - Integrated Braking System".

Booked in for the 17th April. Wife was told it was software related.

Thank you. Very helpful.

Does anyone know when the recall was first issued? I took delivery of my car on 5 January 2024 and so wonder if mine has already been fixed? If not, I will contact the dealer since I have not received anything about this.

Mine was booked in on the 21st March (long story) and was informed they were waiting for the parts to be delivered and they would inform me when they arrive. Their X1 courtesy car has been taken off the road and they are waiting for the parts for that one as well.

Don’t know when it was released but I got the info from the Vehicle recall tool. You just add your VIN or Reg number.

P.s. applies to Canada as well, don't know about European markets

Got my letter today. What is the fix? A new physical controller unit or some software fix?

Dealer told me it requires a new module which they are sourcing, hence the delay in getting it sorted.

Thank you. Checked and there are no recalls for my car. I assume then that means cars built at the very end of 2023 (my car was built Xmas week '23 and delivered on 5 Jan '24) have already been updated/modified? I'll report back if things change.
