I find them unappealing when brand new....forget "aging" well. The only "coupe" SUV I would have any interest in would be the Cayenne. But even then, I think the regular model looks better.

Good overview here. Not a successful design for me, loses the edginess that the U11 has and now looks like a mash up of the Seat, Q3 sportback and a BMW and loses the brand look. Dissapointing but these coupe SUV shapes always seem to look a bit odd.

Look many that have an X1 will always point and not like the X2, but like the X3 forum there is a section that loves them. I'm not sure what I think to be honest, like the front but the back is a little heavy and as mentioned booty, but then so is the X6 and this doesn't look much different.

Not sure its something I'm going to order but I'm sure some will, small SUVs these days are selling like hot cakes and something that looks a little sportier for some and with some tweaks to the styling and interior, sure why not.

Welcome to anyone that is thinking of Ordering and X2, loads of info here to help you as the models I'm sure will have the same 'features' across the board.

For sure some will order and they will always be desirable to some degree as they are more niche sales wise so less will be on the road. Beauty is also an individual thing, I’m a legs man 😂

Which goes to prove my point, everyone’s eyes see it differently. My eyes say the X1 in Msport trim is more edgy and aggressive looking and the x2 looks softer and rounded. You pays yer money and makes yer choice!

I like the new alcantara swatch on the dash, and new bi-color interior combo looks interesting. Exterior-wise, the headlights are nice, but I'm not sure I like the horizontal slats for the M35i grille. Overall I like the front half of the car, but the rear to me is just not my cup of tea. It'll probably sell decently though!

Yeah the suede is nice, that comes from the Audi Q3 sportback which probably got lifted from somewhere else too. I wish there was more customised trims available in general. I would love a proper tan leather/fake leather colour option instead of these dark brown ones which look dull to me (again beauty is in the eye of the beholder!)

yep- people who recently bought the x1 (or whatever model and year) will defend their purchase and speak mostly negative on future bmw models. its tradition lmao

It’s definitely not got anything to do with defending my purchase, I can appreciate plenty of other cars, so trust me I’m way past that kind of “territorial” thing! It’s just not as aesthetically pleasing to me (and rather mixed gene pool design wise imo) but I can understand it may be to others taste. If it was to my taste I’d just trade mine in and get one, so wouldn’t be a big deal for me to say I liked it either way 😉

At the end of the day the interior is the same (which I love apart from the centre storage) and the engines are brilliant so there will be a lot to like either way.

Nah, usually it's the people with no intention of buying one making the most negative comments, look at the reactions to the reveal of the G87 M2 lol. Had they offered both the X1 and X2 at the same time, I think most of us regularly posting in this sub-forum would've still gone with the X1 anyway. The X1 and X2 have vastly different body profiles and most people will like one or the other. Looking forward to the forum growing with new members though, then maybe we can start getting enough traction to get actual subtopic forums lol.

A lot of negative comments about this new X2. Personally I don't think it's bad at all. Perhaps the rear lights might not be the most appealing ones out there, but the front and everything else look pretty decent.

That said, I just feel these even numbered X-cars are just not meant for mass markets, or more like I just don't see the mass market would find this appealing (more so due to price, practicality, etc). These things are kinda like trying to sell a 2door C-class or station wagon kinda thing IMO.

It's a very polarizing design for sure, definitely to appeal to a certain subset of customers. Not my cup of tea, but if someone likes it, that's all that matters. I'm a big fan of bimmer wagons, but most people I know look at them as nothing more than boring grocery getters.

Though it looks sportier, and way more aggressive, it looks too disproportionate. I’d love to see how it drives though, I’d prob be more interested in the iX2 than the m35i in this model

Good god,I know im being harsh but this thing looks like a Pontiac Aztec resurrected from the dead and hastily redesigned to look modern and futuristic. Hopefully it looks better in person. X1 looks way better and more proportional. This looks chunky and bloated all around.

These coupe SUV have also been polarising that isn't anything new the X3 owners often thing the same about the X4, X5 ditto the X6.

Mind you if you go onto the 3 series forums and the Touring they are often a bit baffled why anyone would go with a worse handling SUV when you can get everything you want in a 3 series especially the touring (No the US doesn't ge that, the M3 Touring is immense...).

Horses for course I guess. Having looked it over I like the front, the side I'm not liking the swage line soften in the middle doesn't look right to me not the worst. The rear always poses problems for these types of cars. It's not terrible I can say that much. The interior does have a few other new options which is good shame the X1 doesn't get those.

Expect a light up grill to arrive in the X1 LCI and more I expect, maybe just maybe they sort out the centre storage and change that to something actually useful rather than style over substance, oh we can wish.
