Where did you find your M3?

Hi guys,

So I have this ideal M3 in my head (Interlagos/Black, 6MT, Coupe, Carbon roof, Comp Package). I've been searching for the past few weeks with no luck. I've noticed some cars could be found randomly on dealer websites so I'm not sure if there is anyway to search that. I usually use..

Cars.com
Autotrader
Craigslist
eBay Motors
BMW USA (Pre-owned)

Any other ideas? How did you find yours?

Autotrader. Like you, I was very picky about what I wanted, and it actually took me almost half a year to find mine. Right color combo, 6MT and CF roof. Surprisingly hard to find, with the mileage and price I wanted.

I set Autotrader alert, but it ended up being completely cross country in California. Had it shipped to South Carolina and was extremely happy with the car.

I was looking on Autotrader, Cars.com, ebay, this forum, and actual BMW dealer websites within a 750 mile radius from me. Found "the one" on autotrader in Houston at a BMW dealer. Honestly only took a couple of weeks. It really a hit or miss.

I was on cars.com and found mine with 8000 miles on it tucked away in a garage across the river here in New Orleans. I was lucky.

CL is another place. It took me over 4 months and couldn't find one and I finally decided to buy new. Some guys took over 6 months for the "right" one.

Always a lot around the Houston area. I don't know about yalls areas but it seems like more and more people here and taking their 330i's or whatever and badging them as M3's.

After searching for months, I found 'the one' on ebay, called the dealer that had it listed and offered them less that what the auction was going for. Obviously, they took my offer.

I looked alllll over the place for roughly six months. I found mine at a Scottsdale dealership and fell in love. It was everything I wanted at great mileage and at an even better price (they also were extremely generous with my 350Z trade and letting me take the time to pull the mods off that I wanted).

Local dealer. Cycled down there one Saturday morning. Drove home in an M3. (Had to go back later to pick up my bike though.)

Like many people have probably said, it's all about patience, especially when you're looking for a very particular car. Personally it took me 4 months to find my car, but it has taken others longer. All the sites you mentioned are where I looked, just check twice a week and stay up on the prices to show comparable when you do find what you want. Your search should be a little easier considering the new m3/4 just came out.
