What are you doing with Radio Pressts 1 - 8
Just wondering what most are using these presets for?
I have just 1 thru 4 programmed so far; 1 - full/ half screen option 2 - navigation maps & music artist & song title - split screen 3 - stored prests radio/ Sirius - split screen w/ maps 4 - performance gauges - full screen 5 - open 6 - open Plan on sacrificing 2 presets for the misses and her radio selections,7 & 8, as they are closest to here seat, maybe? Interested to hear what others have done?

You really need a programming degree to fully use all the features in iDrive. I got carried away down a few of the BMW rabbit holes and found myself thankful of the back button. The new Lexus doesn't have it and its causing some seriously negative comments from the initial reviewers.
And I'm a lefty. Most of people don't realize it, but we live in a right handed world. I can barely write my name with my left hand, you expect me to trace letters on a 1" pad with my right hand? GTFO.

"Arrow display" is part of navigation, it tells you what the next change of direction needs to be. A more limited version of the arrow display is already diplayed in the instrument cluster, but the one in the "split screen" shows a more detailed view of the street layout.

Another one here with nothing stored, yet. I will add my two standard things though. Nav home ( or rather a public area close to home of security reasons since I plan to program the garage opener ) and shortcut to call my wife. The rest I need more time to figure out what I endup accessing most frequently.

I set up #1 to be favorite radio station when the dealer was showing how to do the presets. Now it doesn't work and I don't remember how to program them so:
1 - nothing 2 - nothing 3 - nothing 4 - nothing 5 - nothing 6 - nothing 7 - nothing 8 - nothing 9 - nothing Edit: Just watched a YouTube on setting the buttons - piece of cake - maybe I will set some now.

1. USB audio input
2. Bluetooth audio input 3. Sport gauges/displays 4. Show traffic map of current traffic in area - Often handy 5. Empty - I guess I'll put tire pressure/temp here. 6. Navigate to office 7. Navigate home 8. Stop current navigation - Very handy when you already recall or know the location and she keeps talking! |

That's how I have my #3 preset set as, very convenient, I think you can store up to 13 stations(?), radio & Sirius both on the same list. Also I would recommend to those that have phone numbers taking up individual presets, you can just press the voice button on the steering wheel and ask for "telephone"/"phone book" then say the name you want to call. Makes the call, no hands off the wheel.
