Goodbye 1addicts! - Not entirely

I have been on this forum for about 2 years now after I bought my 6MT 135i in 2012. I am here to say goodbye, but not entirely, as I still enjoy reading and posting comments on this forum.

I sold my 1er for a big British cat. The horrendous Atlanta traffic has finally made me cave in for an Automatic, but I miss the manual so much already. The way I setup my 1er was perfect for me, one day I might purchase another one as a weekend "fun" car.

But, what made owning the 1er a lot more fun was this forum. I learned so much from the vast amount knowledge available here and the mostly friendly forum members.

I wish you all goodluck and safe driving!

Very nice! Love those big cats! I wouldn't mind a Jaguar F-Type R Coupe.

Nice car! I like Jag's, my wife had one for a few years, the X-Type. The only change in the past year or so I don't like is, they are owned by TaTa motors now. http://www.tatamotors.com/

Not sure that's a good thing or not.

Oh I was drooling when I saw it in person. They let me test drive one after I bought this car . That car just made me smile like no other car I have ever driven. After a couple of years, once they come into the used market, I will definitely be trading in this one for that!

I think they just own a big share of the company, they don't dictate the day to day operations. The cars are still designed and made in Britian by their people.

I pulled the service history on this car and it had no issues other than regular maintenance. And I have the 6yr 100k full coverage warranty, so not really worried. I feel that most car companies today build pretty reliable cars.

Love Jags but be ready to drop it like a bad habit when the warranty is up. Gf's mother had one and they do outrageous things like build the throttle position sensor into the throttle body. Quoted over $1k in repairs because of a failed TPS. Absolutely ridiculous. I don't blame you for getting rid of the 1 though. I got rid of my S2000 cause I couldnt take it in ATL traffic either. Don't think I'll buy a manual tranny again as a DD.

So why did you sell the 135 if you're missing rowing the gears and already thinking about buying another one in the future? I don't really get these guys who always say they're super sad to see the old car go.

Anyways, congrats!

Agree! I don't like keeping cars past the warranty period.

Like I said in my original post, Atlanta traffic. Driving the 6MT with dress shoes in stop and go traffic wears you down more after a long day at work. I miss it a lot because of the fun I have with it on Saturday and Sunday mornings in the North Georgia mountains.

That is why a lot of people have a comfy daily and a weekend fun car. My current situation doesn't allow that.
