2011 M3 - First Blackstone report. Relief washed over me..

Just got my first Blackstone report in. Car has 46k miles, a little over 8k miles on the oil. As far as I know, the car had around 13-14k mile oil change intervals (going by the service history, there could have been DIY services in between).

All in all, I am very pleased with the results. Magnesium is the only thing that seemed a little high. Not sure what could be the cause of that..?

I plan to do oil services as follows:

-DIY oil service @ 8 months/5000 miles (whichever comes first)
-DIY oil service @ 16 months/10000 miles (whichever comes first)
-BMW oil service @ 24 months/15000 miles (When the car tells me it needs it)

Any input is appreciated

I thought 2011+ doesn't really show bearing signs in oil reports since they don't have lead anymore.

Thats what we read in the numerous bearing threads. Run 2011 myself so I dropped the initial idea to test the oil.

I know they stopped using lead in their bearings but i remember reading that if it was a 2011+ with the newer bearings instead of seeing lead you would see ______________ (cant remember what material). Regardless, in general the overall wear of the engine seems to be on par with what would be expected at 45k miles so it is a good peace of mind even if just a false sense of security.

Agree, a fresh oil report can certainly never hurt - Congrats!
