Evolve E625 Supercharger and Dodson DCT Clutch testing (w/ 60-130's)
Posted on behalf of Evolve customer Steve aka Lost Marine.
I think I've established my baseline 60-130s now, and pretty confidently showed that the Dodson clutches are as good as claimed, so far - Dragstrip testing this weekend Car was as hot as it would be after driving 30 minutes scouting the Mexican roads, and these runs were done basically back-back hot-lapped Had a 1/2 tank of Shell 93 for this, and different roads as they became "clear" 2nd gear start for each. As you can see, a lot of factors come into play for good 60-130s, but importantly, Dodson is holding strong as you can see the G's spike on the upshifts, Although I also do have the Defic Diff Lockdown Kit, which im sure is helping. My previous best: 7.03 -2.8% Decline 1019ft Run Last Nights runs Run 1 6.953 -.8% Decline 1016ft Run Run 2 7.052 +.2 % Incline 1035ft Run Run 3 6.816 -1.5% Decline 999ft Run This morning with 1/4 tank of Shell 93: Run 4 6.73 -.42% Decline 985ft Run And then a bit later after tightening up some couplers: Run 5 6.57 +1.2% INCLINE 964ft Run |

Very, VERY nice runs. 6.5s is very impressive. Would like to know more about what he tightened down to hit the 6.5s. I'm guessing he's talking about suspension pieces, and if so, which ones? Makes sense, and I'm curious about the role they play in runs like this. Congrats to LM and Evolve.
Also very nice to see the proof that the Dodson clutches are working well! I know a few of projects I'm helping with are on the fence about DCT clutches, and I kept telling them to hold off until there's proof that they work. This is truly great news for the whole community! |

I will ask him what he tightened down. Its good to see some results from the clutches too. They will be popular on the F8X M3/M4's when the time comes. |
