Exhausts under 2500?

Im in the market for an exhaust and im looking to keep it under 2500 (but 2200 really)...so what's out there? I know there's a sticky for all of them compared to one another, but I dont believe it's updated, so I wanted to come out here and ask for opinions...

Im currently looking between te ESS rear section, the challenge rear section, and BORLA ATAK...

Any recommendations?

Honestly if you are patient and willing to go with a used unit you could conceivably get any exhaust on the market for that price. My vote goes to a used IPE valvetronic if you can find one. Valves open is almost frightening, yet as soon as they close you are back to stock sound levels. Caveat here is the pitch does raise giving it an F1 type howl.

Based on what you listed though I'd also look into a Gintani as well. People that like muscle car sound seem to really like the burble and burliness of the Gintani axleback. ATAK will drone pretty badly though based on what I've read from owners. A Megan for $600 also gives you a nice bassy rumble and leaves a lot on the table for a nice x pipe.

I figure you go listen to a bunch of exhausts and figure out what you like and buy it. Don't let a price level sway you. Every exhaust made for this car is insanely overpriced and you won't get any extra performance out of them unless they include an X-pipe or if you install test pipes.

How is there a new exhaust thread every day???

But yet, everyone continues to answer them?!! Just this week, I think I read "Borla" 20x.

Search is your friend!

I love my Active Autowerke Signature exhaust. New it is around $2,000.00. I bought mine used from a forum member for $1,000. Love the sound and it has zero drone!

Please show me where I can get a used IPE full F1 exhaust for $2500 and I'll buy it right now. I'm in the market for one but haven't seen any less than $3,600.

Well going by context he was inquiring about an axle-back in that range, which would be doable, maybe some room for a different brand X-pipe which is what I did. I mated my ipe axle back to a mastermind catless x and was still under OPs budget.

Speaking of Meisterschaft GT... It looks almost identical to Megan. Yet it sounds so much louder. Anyone knows why?

This is what I did. I think it sounds better than nearly all the other options out there. I'm switching out to a Macht Schnell x-pipe soon, but only because it was free because I bought something else

This is a good suggestion but sometimes you have to wait and wait and wait and then be limited to what somebody else has, and the care they took care of it. Depending on the difference in price sometimes it's better to just go ahead and get exactly what you want, pay the extra and be happy

I actually only paid $200 for my Megan, it was used in rough shape. I cleaned it up and had a muffler shop install it as it needed alignment, cost $100. I did the testpipes and my total outlay including labor was $700.00. Its as you say, I have yet to hear anything that compares at this price level. I like it better than the Akrapovic setup. I am tempted to try a Borla ATAK with the test pipes..could be to loud.

The MS xpipe I thought was a little too raspy with the Megan and I want the rear cats. As it is now with just the oem rear cats I get a little smell until they come to temp. Would love for you to post a sound clip.

Dave

I don't mind a bit more rasp, but currently there is none. I'll post lots of soundclips once I get it all together.

Doing a Spec TwinDisk clutch, UCP, X-pipe, and ESS blower all at the same time. So it's gonna be a few weeks
