*HELP* CX Racing FMIC for N55 users!

Hello everyone,

So i recently purchased a CX Racing FMIC kit for the N55 application but found out that the chargepipe / hot-pipe doesn't fit the 1er and only the 335i application. I've seen N55 135i's running the Big Tom / CX Racing FMIC on there car and just wanted to know which hot-pipe and chargepipe you are using. Thanks for the help!

Hmm. I was able to get the included piping to fit on my 135i. It was definitely a pain to get the piping to line up. I had to modify the top mounting bracket so that the intercooler sat a little higher to line up with the pipes. Didn't even use the bottom bracket. The silicone hoses are pretty flexible so there is a little wiggle room and the T clamps they provide are solid.

On a side note cutting all the plastic in the way was a pain. Haha!

Really? I spoke to CX Racing's tech and he stated "335i is different to a 135i and the intercooler is not compatible even if they have the same engines".

Didn't make sense to me since it's the same engine...i don't see why it wouldn't work. If your saying you made it work, i will go for it! So everything bolted up correctly?

Good luck! That's a very big intercooler for a stock turbo! Let us know how it goes!

I need some help! So me and my buddies pretty much are 75% there...

Me and my friends can't figure out how to mount the intercooler....Did you guys fabricate your own tabs? And what screws did you use?

Also, what screws did you use to make the MAF sensor on the CXRacing chargepipe work?

The screws are to thick for the CX Racing chargepipe and the bottom mount has a huge gap on where it screws on the bottom...

Can anybody chime in please?

Piping didn't fit on my 08 135i. I had to use part of the stock piping along with cutting some of the piping that was included. Included piping worked great pre-intercooler but the post-intercooler didn't fit my charge pipe at all.

Top bracket didn't fit either - only the bottom. Had to slot the top bracket, was a real mess. But it looks great and functions well atleast

Don't they charge a lot for that kit? The fmic and piping together are around $270 if purchased a la carte. Seems to me you could get a bracket fabricated for less than $200.

Here's what I did. Then we just drilled through the bottom lip of the reinforcement bar and used nuts and bolts with washers to mount it. The first pic is just ziptied to test fitment.
