Good source to purchase aftermarket wheels
Anyone know of some of the better sources to obtain a good diversity of wheels for sale and ultimately purchase high performance wheels in the US? I'm new to this whole aftermarket wheel idea. I like some of the Breyton wheels but I don't know the weight of some of their wheels and I am interested in great performance more so than just looks.

I would avoid Tire Rack like the plague, unless you want to pay retail. They are great for rubber, but not so great for alloy. I would contact companies like D.E.R. Motorsport or Bavarian Hypersports. As far as high performance wheels, I'd look into BBS, RAC, and if you really want to throw around some coin, Neez.

The downsides of the Neez line-up are the real light ones are all Magnesium which, from what I understand, aren't as tough as forged aluminum (more prone to cracks, etc on public roads). If your roads are smooth, no potholes, etc - perhaps they are worth the ~$1,800-2,500/wheel.
Bang for your buck, BBS RGR's are about 20lbs and are strong like bull. |
