Accessories Question

When you have accessories installed by BMW prior to delivery, do you get any return value from what they replace? That is, if i have a new and better steering wheel put on, is my factory steering wheel given to me or credited in some way?

For port installed accessories I believe you do not but I do not have any experience with this.

I believe I read this regarding the black kidney grilles, when people have them installed at the port, they do not receive the OE ones back and are not compensated or receive a discount for it.

You do not receive OEM parts when you do Port installed accessories.

My understanding is you do not get OEM parts back.

I've got an order coming and I am doing kidney grilles, mirror caps and doing the M perf exhaust. I can probably find these pieces cheaper online but adding them with my order I don't pay for any installation (mainly for exhaust) and they get rolled into my lease and residual.

Thanks. Considering a port installation on my upcoming order (MPE & steering wheel). Seems like we leave some money on the table if they don't give back the parts or a credit.
