I think I would rather wait for a GT4 allocation
For a street car, I'd rather get a Boxster S for a lot less money, and for a track car GT4 would be better, or a really old modded cayman |

I think its a bloody fantastic car...may get one myself.
3.8 Carrera S engine copped with a 6 speed manual gearbox in a Porsche roadster... The name Spyder means a lot to a Porsche aficionado. |

I still think that for the streets, the only real acceptable Porsche's are turbos... but they are so expensive it renders them as terrible values... so no Porsche for me. Not everyone carves canyons and not everyone sets Laguna Seca records.

Geez I think its bloody amazing.... only complaint I can lodge is that it is a bit pricey for what it is but I guess I'm just more secure with my manhood because I'd absolutely love one of these if I was in the market for a 2 seat convertible.

I like it! But I don't think it's an apples to apples comparison with the M3/4.
To spec one out similar to my M3 specs, it would probably be a bit pricier, and Porsche does not give deals either... It's a true entry level 2 seater, soft-top sports car. The M3 is my daily driver, if I were in the market for a Boxster, it would be a second car for sure. I do think it looks great and performs well!

I love it, in person it's stunning. But it's a niche car, certainly not the most practical. Base is around $85k, some options $90-$95k. Always the deal with Porsche, I consider getting one but can never rationalize it.

I think it is great. I would love to get one however there is a rumor Porsche is considering producing a GT4 version of the Boxster with all the same upgrades as the GT4 Cayman. If that is true that would be the car to get.

boxsters are a joke. dont worry about them. without even looking at the specs, i know the F82 would destroy one. hell the F82 would also probably out perform a cayman S.
only the 911s start to get decent. |

That being said, I own a F83 (M4 Convert) which isn't a roadster and I would pick it over the Boxster S just because it's my perfect car right now. |

someone posted a question asking if a M3 will out perform this and other boxsters. So in regards to a performance question, the boxster doesn't offer much performance for wearing a Porsche name and being priced at where its at. therefore the car is a joke.

After trying to get a GT4 allocation and being unsuccessful, I was offered an allocation for the new Spyder.
I declined. With the crappy, humid weather in my area I realized I would only drive with the top down for maybe 1 month out of the year, with the remaining months being either too hot or cold. The car itself is great but I'm just not a convertible guy. Also I realized I'm settling for what I really want (GT4). If you think the Spyder is a joke, you obviously don't know what a real driver's car is. |

Well the Spyder has base 911 power. Do I think it's worth the $? Debatable, but the car definitely isn't a joke.

The Spyder has the 3.8 Carrera S engine, not the base Carrera engine.
Check out below what that engine did to the E92 M3 Don't worry about that M3 Guy because he doesn't even have one. |
