Yeah, the first clip in that article was of that C7Z06 guy at ACS Roval that was enraged about passing the GT3. It got a lot of play on the Corvette Forum and Rennlist, but the video has been pulled. Worse piece of DE driving and "instructing" I've ever seen. He had the nannies on full blast and thought he was "the shit" for passing the GT3.
See my sig pic, I appropriately substituted the faces of "Dumb and Dumber" for those two guys.

The porsche driver was also trying to race just as much as the corvette driver, to the point where his rear end was sliding out on numerous turns/maneuvers. And where the hell were the track officials on calling both of those cars in? Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it the responsibility of the track officials to call in any drivers who are breaking rules or are driving dangerously (I am pretty sure racing falls in either of those categories). The corvette driver was not the only one at fault in this situation, and I think several posters here as well as Jalopnik are missing the bigger picture with regards to where the blame lies.

Agree, some blame goes to the Porsche driver too and Corvette guy should've been back flagged during the session.
The "instructor", as it turns out, was just his friend who had driven the track before and not part of SpeedVentures.

I was at an event earlier this month where the instructor was dirivng the student's car, put 2 off on one corner (automatic black flag), ignored the flags, put 4 off in another corner, again black flagged and ignored.
Three full laps happened with the instructor being black flagged, before the event chair killed our entire session, brought all cars in. Immediately after coming into the paddock, all lined up, the chair went to the car in front of me, began yelling and threw the instructor out of the event. I imagine the student was apologized to profusely. I do know that the student was telling his instructor that he has a black flag - and the instructor kept ignoring. The good part is that the "instructor's" name will be circulated and he will be black-listed. |

Wow. thats a student horror story. Instructor red misting in their car!
By the way, f8x community needs to look in the mirror at themselves too. I was at big willow recently and an f80 pointed me by coming out of nine then proceeded to drag race me down the main straight. Driver had been way off line in several corners (3-5 sequence) trying to stay in front of me prior to this impromptu drag race (from what i saw from behind the nannies were making corrections to keep the car from oversteer). I yielded t1 rather than play chicken going into t1 brake zone. Congrats fellow f80 driver on your hpde cup win |

i sure hope so... very disappointing to hear this. it goes against everything instructors should stand for. what an embarrassment to the sport.

i had a guy with a supercharged c6 z06 pass me through a turn at barber (not allowed in my group) because i was stuck in a train and kept the correct line... he cut inside and if i wasn't paying attention would have had my turn in directly into his driver's door. my instructor almost crapped himself and we had to report the guy for such awful situation awareness... because that's the most important thing at these events, imo... being aware of yourself and other drivers to be safe above all other things. smh .... some people.

I reserve hot laps when the student is the right seat of MY car, and don't do it for all students .

The majority of times when I have a passenger it is my student.I have made the mistake of really pushing hard with a student onboard then having to try reeling them back in their next session!
