Stock exhaust loudness

Hello guys

Is it me or the stock exhaust on F85/6 really is loud? I've compared it with my friend's F12 M6 stock exhaust and mine sounds louder.

Don't have experience with an F12 but it sure is LOUD and loving it.

What mode you driving in?

I think it sounds just about perfect. Subtle but deep/menacing at idle, great downshifts, and some of the coolest/most unique noises on WOT UPSHIFT I've ever heard.

Definitely best sounding BMW exhaust currently being produced...

Ditto! I'm curious what the X5M sounds when cruising around at "normal" speeds.. videos on YT are all at high speeds.

Doesn't that tell you something? These are impossible to drive slow!

But I'll see what I can get my wife to film with the GP. Honestly, though, go watch the F85 testing vids -- sound identical, which has me more than thrilled

I guess mine only have 600 miles and require the exhaust to break in? I drive it in Sport mode and the exhaust sounds weak. After the 1,200 miles service, I'll then consider exhaust or catless DPs if it's not any louder. I might just do a valve mod like I did on the F80 (I'm sure it's similar).

Put your car in Sport+, Revs the engine, shut the car off, then disconnect both exhaust valves (look under the car, near the tail pipes). This mod would keep the valves locked open, making the car sound louder. It should take about 5min + taping and zip-tie the wires.

its louder cause they updated the TTV8 and have used a different exhaust this time. next gen M6 M5 will probably sound different from last gen too
