Enhanced USB / Snap in adapter modification question
I got the 6NS enhanced USB/BT, but I see that the adapter location is inconvenient (armrest) and iPhone 6 adapter is expensive $200.
Has anyone looked at the adapter piece and tried to modify it? My thought is to buy the adapter but modify it so that the actual lightning plug that comes out is a cable and can connect to my phone that I place elsewhere. The theoretical benefit to this is 1) better placement of phone, 2) ConnectedApp BS, and 3) use of external car antenna. anyone have the adapter and how does it work for you? |

Don't get the purpose of your "exercise"... you can do what you want via the USB port without the need of the baseplate. And the inductive antenna only works if you keep the phone in the snap-in connected to the baseplate in the baseplate.

That's exactly the question. Is there a way to make use of the external antenna without putting the phone inside the armrest?

It sounds like you're telling me there is something in the plate (not the adapter) that transfers the cellular signal to the external antenna. If it is something in the adapter, then it could possibly be modified so that the adapter can sit elsewhere as the dock, jerry rigged to connect to the base plate, and still allow use of the antenna. |
