The shift lights are still the same in the updated HUD, only thing that changed is the tac from gray to blue. the shift indicator still does the orange flash from left to right up top otherwise when not close to red line they stay gray.

so the boxes that light up yellow are grey when not illuminated? I've seen a few on other series bmw that used to be yellow boxed when not illuminated. just trying to figure out what the current f8x ones have. dmnc02 helped a few of us update our all grey m hud a while back. thanks!

I have a good shot of it, but I don't know how to upload photos on this site. Every time I try to upload it says file image too big. If you could tell me how to upload, I'll put up my pic.

If you click the "Attach" button and scroll to the bottom of the window, it will tell you what is the size limit for each type of file. You might have to reduce the size or resolution of your pic.

Is it offered as a software up for 2015? If so, free?

So it's standard for 2016?

It is changed with the newer versions of the car's software. Below is a quick picture of the way mine looks after a software update (I am sure Mikeisen has a better pic). The tachometer is much easier to see against the background of grey asphalt.

I also believe the speed limit info is now boxed instead of being a circle like the previous poster has. dmnc02 has the updated SLI picture.

I do not think it was ever a circle on US cars. The car in the picture by Hedoniste must be a non-US car.

Hope this helps.

Dealership performing the update has been hit or miss, depends on the dealership.

We're only updating HUD for this feature, vehicle would need to be at our facility in Anaheim, CA for flashing.

Reduce width to 800 or 1024 and you should be ok. Curious about the look and might as well post a pic of your new car, congrats!

dmnc02 posted a guide a while back if you'd like to try and flash the HUD update yourself. I followed his guide and got my HUD updated. It was also posted here but the thread mysteriously disappeared for some reason. If you'd like the link send me a PM
