ACM | CA Tuned Coil Overs

The engineers at CA Tuned in Sacramento, California are no strangers to BMW. For years they've specialized in maintenance, track prep, and restoration/revival of all kinds of BMWs. From ground up restorations of full on 100 point show cars to track builds and engine-swapped magazine cover cars - they've done it all. They have been developing coil overs for various platforms for quite some time now from the older chassis leading up to the newer models and they've finally released a kit for the F8x..

These coil overs are designed specifically for the F8x chassis and are 30-way adjustable with camber plates included. You can choose your spring rates upon ordering depending on what your desired driving preference is. All of the adjustments you'd expect in a coil over are available with these in order to get you setup for street, track, or anywhere in between.

The CA Tuned coil overs are an affordable solution for those of you who want to set the car up the way you want to without sacrificing performance or ride quality.

They retail for $2,200. They are available and ready to ship out.

I'm interested in reading a review about these. The inverted design of the rear shocks + the 2 piece body is something I haven't seen on this platform yet. This will make adjusting the damping easier than any coilover kit so far. Somebody install these.

There is so much interest in these since we've posted it up. As Alex mentioned we just shipped a set out last night and are waiting for install. Can't wait to see these on the F8x's! And as Alex also said, they are available in 3 bolt for earlier models and 5 bolt for the newer production cars.

Can they be installed without the Camber plates if we dont want the additional NVH?
Would you say these are more street or track oriented?

You can get these without camber plates. The price is reflected without them, but that's part of the package and the adjustment benefit. To be honest they're unbiased until you order. When you order them you choose the spring rates so if you want it set up for street comfort you can go softer where as if it's a track toy you can order with stiffer spring rates to start. Once you have that selected, then the valving and dampening is specific on your end to maximize performance and comfort since it's different for everyone.

I was just about to get these a few weeks back. I want to see a little more reviews. I can vouch for the build quality on these, I've felt them and they are definitely a nice unit. Ride quality and feel is something entirely different though.

so, can you order these with the stock spring rates and shock valving that's basically the same as the stock non-adaptive setup? I would be looking for a very modest drop (maybe 0.5" - 1.0" in front and 0.5" in back) and something that's as close to factory comfort for the street as possible.

Any pictures of a car after getting these installed? How low do they actually go?
