WTT: 18 inch 513M Rims w/ MPSS & TPMS for 19 inch 437M
Hey guys, just testing waters here to see if anyone would be interested in trading their OEM 19's 437M for my 18's 513M with MPSS & TPMS. I euro delivered my car so I know the tires on them are PSS with the rims. They literally have a total of 1300 total miles on them and are FLAWLESS! Car just got delivered back to me this week and decided last minute I like the look of 19's more. Seeing if anyone locally has interest in SoCal. Feel free to PM me to discuss! I won't trade you my 437s, but if you're interested in selling your 513 take offs, I'm interested...

I would think you'd have to come up with at least $1200 cash to cover the actual option cost of the 19s. And even then, I think you'd have to incentivize it even more. Sounds like a losing proposition IMO. Best to buy some 19s and sell these.

That being said, the 18s would make a great set of winter wheels. |

I had the 19s and the ride quality was horrendous. I couldn't drive the car on sport or sport + on the road. I got rid of the 19s and got the 18 and my goodness is the ride sooooooooooo much better. I lowered my car with MS springs, and the 18s look perfect with a slight drop. On top of the better ride, better handling (in my opinion), better breaking performance that is noticeable, and the way the power is put to the ground, should be enough to have anyone trade for the 513M. 18s are better, and lighter. That 2 lbs difference in rotational mass is huge, and I could feel the difference immediately in low end torque. Plus, since there is less weigh on the wheel, the brakes have a slight bit more of a bite, and I like that. The car breaks better.
The 18s have been the best investment I have made on the car. The M4 is definitely at its best with the 513M wheels. Oh, and not to mention road noise. It's practically completely gone. Drives smoother than my moms Camry. |

The stock 18s are pretty darn light. I switched from the stock 19s to the stock 18s and my wife says that the car pulls so much harder. Even my father noticed the difference. The breaking is much better with the 18s, torque is just nuts, and the ride is definitely softer. I think the car should of came that way for all of the M4s. I can't stand 19s on the M4. Ride quality is unbearable.
I would trade again in a heart beat. 513s is the way to go. To the guy or girl posting this ad: I hope you don't regret trading your 18s for 19s. :/ |

Well I can see we went a bit off topic but that is alright...glad everyone is getting it out of their system, haha. I do love the 18's and you are really making me consider just keeping them but will leave this thread here for now.
Still BUMP! MPSS preferred! Really trying to avoid Contis at all cost! |

Lighter wheel, better brakes. It takes less force to stop a lighter wheel. Less weight, more power and torque transfer. All common sense and basic engineering. Thicker tire, more absorption of sound; More rubber on the ground.
My wife, who knows nothing about cars, said it feel so much faster and the brakes work better. <----my wife's exact words. |

And forget conti tires. Nothing close to MPSS. The steering feel is what will kill you, and the tire weight is way more than MPSS. You're going backwards if you get the 19s.
I have a feeling you're still going to get them, though. lol |

For just 1 pound per wheel difference in weight, i would always go with the 19's. Looks way better on our big cars. The sidewall of the tires on the 18's are too thick as well from afar.

Yes, now THAT's "subjective". I'm just talking straight facts. I feel the difference with that "1" lbs. fyi, it's not 1lb...it's close to 2.
We aren't talking about looks. One person could hate the 19s, and another can love them. I'm talking about the comfort of the car, and the sound of the car while it's in motion, and the breaking performance, and the torque transfer to the wheel....the performance stuff. It makes a nasty difference. A difference to the point where my buddies who have switched over say the same thing. My father who drove my car before and after noticed the same thing (without even knowing the wheels were swapped...he's 68..oldie) and even my wife who doesn't know jack about cars said that when she punched it, it drove faster. So, this is all experience buddy....not looks. Last edited by Account Closed; 10-29-2015 at 12:27 AM.. |

The bottom line is the poster has to be happy...my message to the poster is just to let him/her know....these are some seriously cool wheels and think twice before you chuck them. I would even go as far as saying, don't sell them right away. Buy the 19s and put them on for a few weeks. I almost think he might want to back to the 18s when he sees how poorly they ride and how common they are. That's all folks, just my two cents. I would love it if these were the right offset and would be perfect for the my 1M. |

My 1M does not have active suspension and it's pretty stiff. I bought a set of Pilot Supersports with the exact width as stock...245 front , 265 rear and the same thing happened. When I was on bumpy roads the damn traction control light came on less and accelerated better. This is a real issue in our turbo cars because if the tire hops and you lose traction, the TC kicks in and the party ends. Ok so now I went on to 4 cents...sorry guys! Best wishes. |
