I'd really like BMW to make a WAZE nav app available

Technically I wonder if this is possible...

There are some people who have done a DIY to make this work, saw one done on an X5 iirc. Can't recall but if you search you should be able to find it.

After a 10 second search, it's do-able.

Need to jailbreak for it.

Seems like this solution is simply mirroring your mobile device screen onto the iDrive. Which is actually kinda neat. In theory, if we could run any of the mirroring apps on our screens... that too would work.

I was really hoping that these cars would come equipped with an HDMI input. That way I could connect my BB device directly using a micro-HDMI cable and display it's screen, no matter what the content. I recall the Honda Fit having this capability. I'm surprised this functionality isn't more common place amongst the luxury brands.

Yah would be nice imo.

To be fair, I used waze quite a bit in the beginning when I used it. Now I don't use it a whole lot. Just sit in the car and drive off. Would I use it if the feature was a available? Sure; but I freaking hate how Waze doesn't tell me about upcoming cops unless I set a destination; the woman won't shut up and it gets in the way of my music.

In my experience there's no need to set a destination to view cops on the map in Waze...
