F82 Spring Install Quote - fair price?

Being quoted $700 in labor plus about $100 for an alignment.

Does that sound about right? What have others paid?

That sounds like book time.
A fair install price on this model is around $400/$500 and an alignment extra depending on where you go.

Find a independent shop that is capable of installing the springs rather then the BMW dealership...it is a fairly easy job

For less than $300 in tools you can do it yourself. Plus, you have have the tools after you finish. The only hard part is getting the front struts out of the wheel well after you undo all the bolts. Other than that, it's just turning wrenches. Just buy a quality spring compressor. This is not the place to cheap out.

Maybe just a bit on the high side. Your location will determine the price.

Was able to find another indy shop that was well recommended and paid 400 all in. Shop didnt have alignment rack so I will take the money I saved and have dealer align the car.

Whoever quoted you that should be charged with rape and assault. That is outrageous! Hope you didn't get that done.

If you're in Portland, DM me...I know a shop that I used for all my m3, Carrera, and VW work called Matrix Integrated. Shop owners are the best and will do it for like 1/3 of that price I would expect.

If you guys are in the LA area let me know. My friend Kevin that owns ABS Autobody will do it for $150. Search up his shop on yelp or e90post. He does a lot of high end bmws. He just installed my springs , cf spoiler, blacked out side reflector for CHEAP.

$150 is the going rate. It's about an hour of work in total.

I'm sure many forum members can attest to getting in an out in under an hour for springs

I wish we had shops quoting labor at that price here in NJ/NY.

Thanks for holding the M tax

Seriously, some of these quotes being posted are offensively high.
