Are the half cage and bucket seats removeable?
Is the half cage and bucket seats removeable?
I want to get a M4 GTS, but would want to remove the half cage, put some rear seats in, and also change out the bucket seats since they're probably not comfortable. The front lip probably has to go, but definitely leaving in the rear wing. |

My guess if you are able to get the car US specs will not have a cage just like GT3s due to DOT rules

Unless I'm misunderstanding something... Why would you not just get the non-GTS?

According the specs that I received from BMW Canada the GTS is coming with the Roll Bar but with a Hybrid Sport seat with side airbags that the race seats do not have to be legal for North American safety specs.

I believe in Canada you can also get GT3's with roll bars but not in the US

does that mean the M4 GTS sold in the US will not have the roll bar? The one they showed in the LA auto show had the roll bar and it list the "clubsport package" on the feature sheets.

I would think that BMW certified the car for US standards with the Roll Bar where Porsche did not as it is a structural member of the car and could effect the crash test performance.

+1. Why get a GTS and then proceed to un-GTS it? I get wanting a back seat, no roll bar, etc. That's why I'm not buying a GTS. I think you'd be happier buying an M4 and modding the bijesus out of it. Cheaper too.
