Can someone help me with the ED invoice for my build?

Using this as the guide: http://www.bimmerfest.com/pdf/bmw-pr...cing-Guide.pdf

For the following build, I come up with $67,880.80 +- $50 as the ED invoice

M4 Base Price $62,415.00

YMB $550.00
Exec Package $3,200.00
Lighting Package $1,900.00
DCT $2,900.00
Adaptive M $1,000.00
Parking Assistant $500.00
USB/bluetooth $350.00
Destination $995.00

The prices listed above are ED MSRP prices. According to http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=833290 you multiply the MSRP by .92 and the options by .91 to get to the invoice pricing. So, once I've done that, again, I come up with $67,880.80 +- $50 as the ED invoice.

So I think your math is correct...
Since the ED discount was reduced starting in 2016, I would use the following formula to calculate ED invoice pricing:
  • Base ED price = US Base MSRP (with no options) * 0.95
  • Base ED invoice price = Base ED Price * 0.92
  • Add in any desired options at 91% of MSRP
  • Add in destination charge of $995

Yep, that's the exact formula I used to get to my numbers.

MSRP * .95 = ED MSRP ~= $65,700 * .95 = $62,415
ED MSRP * .92 = ED Invoice ~= $62,415 * .92 = $57,421.80
Options * .91 = ED Invoice ~= $10,400 * .91 = $9,464
Same destination = $995

Total ED Invoice = $67,880.80

I've been given two different numbers as the ED invoice by two CAs that came with high recommendations. Their numbers are about $1000 from each other, which in turn are about $1000 from my calculated ED invoice price. Basically, all over the place. One of the dealers confirmed that my MSRP was correct but that my base ED invoice was off by $500. Also, he stated that the options were not discounted for invoice on ED, to which I expressed great surprised but he said that was the fact. However, even with that, his numbers didn't add up.

Anyone done an ED this year yet? How did you come up with the correct invoice numbers?

The attached doesn't include the price increase in January.

Options on ED are not discounted below US MSRP - the ED discount is only in the base price of the car. So options have the same US and ED Invoice pricing.

Your ED invoice for the configuration above is approximately $67,535 - only approximate because we haven't seen the actual pricing sheet for the new (95%) ED discount. But that figure is within a 200 bucks or so

Didn't know that about the options.

But using B1st's post above and removing the dos on options puts it $1,000 higher than his result, no?

Thanks for the sheet and working out the numbers for me. Our numbers are identical except for the ED invoice base price, where you have it as $57,895, which BTW, is the correct ED invoice base price according to a CA. Where/how did you get that number?

BMW's website along with many other online sources have M4 MSRP base as $65,700. $65,700*0.95*0.92 = $57,421.80. That's how I got to my number.

Note exactly sure - because the invoice price sheets I have are from before the 2% price increase for ED. But I think I got it from using the same multiplier from MSRP. It is 92.8% of ED MSRP, just like the US Invoice is 92.8% of US MSRP.

vonmayr's calculation was absolutely correct, although he left out usb/bluetooth option in his calculation. The correct ED invoice for my build is $68,350.00, confirmed by CA #2 and it's on order now It turns out CA #2 was being honest but he accidentally added full-leather option so his price was off. CA #1 had a very weird number for invoice but I'm not dealing with him any more so I don't care. CA #2 did tell me that BMW changed pricing vastly this year and many dealers are confused.

Thanks for the help and now the wait begins!

This was a lot of help since I'm going in this morning to discuss the price on my build and the new wholesale/invoice pricing that has changed. I'm pretty annoyed at this ~$1200 price difference in my pre-Jan pricing.

Side note... Is $598 Admin/Processing Fee normal? I can't seem to get around it....

Yea, the smaller ED discount sucks but it has been widely reported on here for around 4-6 months. The $300 increase itself doesn't seem too bad.

The $598 doc fee is sadly "normal" for certain parts of the country. It seems like all of the NC dealers charge that. It's ridiculous, but not usually easy to get dropped. Some states have maximums for the doc fee and cap them at lower amounts. So far I've paid as low as $80 (SoCal), $275 (MD), and $598 (NC).

I knew about the possible increase in price but my build date couldn't change so I was gonna end up having to pay it no matter what. If I could have done the delivery sooner I would have.

Thanks. Glad to know its kind of normal for NC. But I like the way I was treated at this dealer and it's nice to have someone local to deal with.

Just got done meeting up with my CA. The new ED invoice price is $55,975 for the M3

Gotta say, these prices look really good.
Are there specific CA's you guys are using to get ED invoice pricing?

These prices are only the ED invoice price of the cars. These guys didn't say they are getting the car at ED INVOICE. In fact they haven't said what they are paying for the car, so keep that in mind.

I'm working on a build myself with a dealer in the CA Bay Area.
Here is a screen capture of the build I am going to propose.

I believe my calculations are correct.

Thanks... The dealer sent me a price ~5K above invoice via email as the first interaction. Not a good sign. I'll go in person and try to build a relationship, else, I'll just move on to the next dealer.
