Tire Pressures...
I just picked up a new X5M this week and going through all of the menus, I noticed that all 4 wheels are at about 31lbs, when the recommended pressure for the 21in wheels is 36lbs. Given the tires have Nitrogen in them, I can't simply adjust them with my compressor.
To me, this is somewhat a big deal that needs to be corrected not only for proper driving dynamics, but also to manage wear of the tires. When I brought it in to the dealer today to add tinting to the front windows, I also asked them to correct this, which they did not do. I didn't notice until after I had driven off... Thoughts on whether I should bring it back and ask to get that done? Can't take more than 10 minutes...

Yes get it done. I believe recommended pressures are the same for nitrogen or air. You should at least be at 36. Dealers are bad at monitoring this in my experience, so I always check after a visit.

The benefits of having the correct pressure clearly outweighs the benefits of nitrogen. Just add air and keep it corrected. Otherwise you are going to be running to the dealer every time the weather changes.

You can adjust your nitrogen filled tires with air, not a problem. The air that we breathe is mostly nitrogen and oxygen. Since oxygen molecules are smaller than nitro, oxygen would escape before nitrogen. =)

Thanks for all of the responses and validation...I brought it in again this afternoon and got all 4 tires up to 36-37 lbs. This is the 1st car I've had with nitrogen in the tires, so it's going to get some getting used to. I know I 'can' add air any time I want, but my obsessiveness over my car is going to make me want to do it right...N-only.

Been raining in Dallas all week, but hoping to clean it up this week. For now all I have is one I took last weekend after the test drive.

What color is the interior? Looks sharp. I would get the rockers and door bottoms wrapped. I had to learn the hard lesson after getting a free sandblast in the rockers and door bottoms.... should cost about 300 - 400 to get it done.

Thanks. Standard black interior with the aluminum trim. There was another one with same color combo but with the full leather interior and carbon fiber trim, but this was at the top end of my budget and I'm more than fine with it.
Haven't heard of wrapping the rockers, would love to see and learn more about that.

Looks beautiful, congrats!
I agree. My '13 was Space Grey and I had black envy. Now that I'm back in black I'm loving the DG. It reminds me of the Sterling Grey, it has more silver to it, the Space Grey was kind of flat. |

41 is excessive. It's wrong. Mine were supplied like this too. The wheels/tires are shipped overinflated (I've been told to avoid flat spotting), and the dealers are supposed to bring them down to where they're supposed to be. It should be 36/36, or you can run higher (by the door placard) up to 42 on the rears if you're carrying heavy loads all of time. But they messed up. Always check your pressures after leaving the dealer...
