To Space or not to Space? That is the question ...

Have OEM 343's in 20' with MPSS tires. What spacer options look / perform best (size as I presume all manufacturers are very similar) on the M5? By bumping the tires out, I would think more rock pits will show up on the door panels since more tire area is exposed to sandblast the panels?

Not to hijak, but I'd also like to know the answer, and see any pics with competition package suspension.

12mm all around is ideal for our cars. You don't want any less than 12mm as it won't clear the hub lip. If lowered, go 15mm all around for a flush look.

Can't go wrong with BMS or MS brands.

12mm for non-CP?

Any rock damage on panels from bumping tires out? I would think that there would have to be, no?

12mm all around for carbon and steel brakes. 12mm just makes the wheels flush, not sticking out so no issues with rock chips.

I have an F10 M5 non-CP and went with Macht Schnell spacers...they seem to be one of the most common among the BMW crowd, but I'd imagine any reputable company would be fine. I put 12mm up front and 15 in the rears...looks great. No sand blasting evidence. ...yet.

MS spacers 12mm
H&R springs
stock pzeros

I'd say there is slightly less than 2 finger space in the rear wheel wells.

anyone using burger tuning spacers? They seem more competitively priced that the others and should function the same?

They're hub centric and BMW specific. No issues reported on the BMS spacers, so you're good.

I also used Macht Schnell spacers and prefer 10mm on all four corners. I'm prob more conservative than others though.

If your car is not lowered, I can see that 12mm might appear to stick out. I don't think you can put less than 12mm in front, as it won't clear the hub lip. Anything less than 10mm won't be hub centric.

But unless you have a measuring tool, how can you tell the difference between 10mm and 12mm? That's a difference of 0.08 inch (less than 1/10th of an inch). Hell, I can't even tell 2 drill bits apart with a difference of 1/10" looking up close. Maybe I don't have as good of a vision compared to you experts?

With a drop, 12mm all around looks best.
