That was fast!

Just got an email from the dealer letting me know my 40e might be in today or tomorrow. It was ordered on March 7th.

Two weeks, plus a day or two, from ordering to delivery is really quick. Being only 600 miles from the assembly plant helps, of course. No wondered dealers have few X5's on their lots if a custom order can be had in such a short lead time.

Now I have to decide if I want any extra's, like Simonize Glasscoat, or Xpel added.

Anyway I'm excited.

Sometimes you luck out and they have a slot already allocated and can change the build. From a transport standpoint, it sure beats having to wait for a ship from Germany.

Congrats.

Congrats. I wonder if getting more 40e X5s out into the wild contributed to the speed of the build? Prob not, but you never know.

That's a good question. I wonder what the ratio of the 40e is as compared to all builds?

Congrats!

I should be picking up my X5 M this Friday!!! I lucked out with my local dealership who had an allocation already built with the specs that I wanted.

You were lucky indeed. It's been my experience that dealer builds seldom come close to what's important for me to have on a vehicle. That's why ordering a X5 is such an appealing option.

I'll look for pictures of your X5 M!

Thanks, HansRobert! I look forward to seeing your pictures as well. Yeah, I definitely got lucky since I was definitely ok with ordering one and waiting 6-8 weeks. When my SA told me about the one on order, I smiled from the inside. It certainly will be a GOOD Friday if I get the call to pick her up.

Congrats! Am curious to read of how your 40e compares to what it replaced.

I'm picking it up on Thursday afternoon.

BTW I've declined all the add on services, ie., Glasscoat, Xpel, tire and rim warranties, etc. While they may have some benefit I think the costs are prohibitive and I can have it done locally at better prices. Just my opinion!

You must be excited! I agree on skipping all add ons. I did so as well. Enjoy the delivery and first drive. Mine came home Saturday and I can't stay out of it...
