ED - How long to confirm initial pickup dates at Welt?

I'm 99.98% there to taking the plunge on an ED M4.

This was a bit last minute and am trying to secure mid-May dates for pickup (yes, pushing that suggested 8 week window).

I submitted my 3 preferred dates for pickup at Welt this last Monday (28th) and was curious how soon everyone generally had their dates confirmed? Geez, if I'm this antsy about just having these dates confirmed, I can only imagine how giddy/anxious/impatient I'll be once I start seeing status updates.

The second question, how many of you were denied/approve when you submitted your dates? Kind of a bummer it takes multiple days to hear back, but one can only assume they're busy and want to ensure the pickup dates are 100% since people's travel plans depend on them.

Thanks in advance!

It's typically a 48 hour turnaround. Your CA will receive an email with the selected date.

I received my first choice, but I made my request in January for an April date.

I am in the process of creating a journal that outlines my entire timeline...

Allocation received: 2/19/16

I sent my ED dates to my CA: 2/19/16

CA sent to ED people: 2/19/16

Wife then proceeded to call ED program at 1800-932-0831 in the afternoon and they confirmed with us our first choice was already in the system: 2/19/16

CA sent me the ED confirmation email from ED people: 2/23/16

So in my case, the ED program confirmed my first date the same day my CA sent in the paperwork (on a Friday). But, I didn't get the return email from the ED program people until the following Tuesday.

Hope this helps.

I received my first choice within a day or two and then made 2 changes of the delivery day afterwards with no issue. They were very accommodating. It's the *time* you wish to take delivery that can sometimes cause the hiccup.

Thanks for the updates and help everyone.

Got a hold of a rep in the ED department (National) and she tried pulling up the Pre Reservation Form my dealership is supposed to send...apparently she didn't have it, meaning the dealership didn't send it. Ugh.

Called the dealership and trying to get it sent out today...she said that once it's sent over, she can hopefully confirm a date for me today (yay). They're currently booking out for May 10th, so there's a good shot I'll get my date. *fingers crossed*

Thanks for the info!

Good luck man, I did not get my first choice of dates I wanted to pick up. Although now my current date allows me to pick up my car in the morning! Which works out for me.

Just a quick update...

Sales Rep who doesn't handle ED (I'm working with one sales rep and then another who does all of the dealerships ED orders), called me and confirmed Status 111, gave me a production number, and said my date was good. I asked him what time the appointment is scheduled for and he couldn't give me that info.

Soooo, I called the ED number, and the rep there said she actually didn't confirm my date, BMW said that the days are full, but she's trying to get an exception made to have my preferred pick up date squeezed in. Misinformation, clearly, but hoping tomorrow she comes back with good news and then I can get things moving on.

As of now, have my production number, so that's a start.

It doesn't really matter how quick you receive a reply to your requested delivery date(s), it's how far in advance you request your delivery dates. The farther in advance the better. The closer to your requested delivery date that you request, the less likely you are to get your requested date(s) and the more they have to look to see if there's a slot open on your requested date(s).

So someone saying "I got my reply in x days", really has no bearing on anything unless they indicate how far in advance their request was made.

I submitted my delivery date request for a May 13 delivery in mid-February, about six weeks ago. There is a large group pickup on Friday, May 13 and also on Friday, May 20 or Saturday, May 21.

Thanks for the input...and everyone else as well. Hoping to hear back tomorrow from the ED department.

Just an update for anyone following and those that helped...got confirmation from ED that my May 18th pickup date was accepted...happy dance!

Now just waiting to nail down an actual time (either morning before or afternoon as I'm planning on doing the English speaking tour at 11:45).

Can. Not. Wait.
