First Service during ED. Where did you go and what did you pay?
I'm planning on putting about 3k km on the car during my ED so I'll have to do the first service over there. I'm told that I can submit it to BMW and get reimbursed for it but was wondering what other people paid when getting the first service done in Europe and where you went? Also, any insight on how easy the reimbursement process is would be great.

I took mine to Italy last year during delivery and had it serviced at one of the Florence dealers. I had sent them a couple of emails to set an appointment, but they were weak on English and I got no reply. I called the ED team at the Welt and they set the appt. Had the special oil and diff fluid when I got there! Cost was ~$500, I believe BMWNA will reimburse, I have submitted recently but not gotten anything back so I can't confirm that.

When I got home, I submitted the receipt to my selling dealer and he got me the check cut the next day.

We put on just short of 4,000 km on our ED trip. We knew it would be more than the 2,000 km for break in. Told our salesman about our plans and he said it would be our choice to either get European service and submit or do it upon arrival here in Canada. Just recommended we pick up some oil in the event we needed to top up. We elected to go that route as it was a bit more to our pace and we didn't have to worry about reimbursement.
No issues with the car on the trip. If you have the option we would recommend it Enjoy your trip! |

I did mine at BMW Vienna Donaustadt. It was sortve out of my way, did't get a loaner (I don't think that's a standard service like it is here in the US). It was roughly 500 euro but my sales rep helped me get reimbursed. Process was very easy.
