Does this bracket do anything other than hold the x-pipe?
I'm trying to determine if the bracket/cross-member shown below between the secondary cats/resonators has any function other than to hold the x-pipe.
Looking at the way the bracket attaches (bolts attach to something behind the braces that come in diagonally from the subframe), it does not look to me that it is structural in nature. It seems to be intended to support the x-pipe primarily but I may be way off... Input from chassis pros here is appreciated!

there was a similar thread asking about the same thing about a week ago. a good suggestion from someone was to add washers between the bracket and the car to create a little bit of space without sacrificing any possible structural rigidity.

In trying to research and find a better solution I have come across various bracing options that I am surprised do not seem to come up in the M3 forums such as the ones listed below: https://www.google.com/search?q=e92+...nME-3MOM7vM%3A http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/1719760...&ul_noapp=true
