F80 w/HK Speaker Level Input LC2iB Subwoofer Addition?

I searched but couldn't find anything recent, and this product looks fairly new.

Has anyone used this to create a signal to add a subwoofer/amp to the car while retaining the entire stock setup?

If so, which speaker feeds did you tap in to?

I could be wrong but I believe MusicarNW uses this line output converter in their subwoofer packages.

My installer used an LC2I for that very purpose a few years ago in my weekend 2-seater to add a powered bass tube. It all worked out better than I hoped for, adding sub-40Hz bass while retaining almost all the trunk space. I did spend a few hours retuning the LC2I as well as output and crossover settings on the sub after I got the car back, time well spent as I felt the bass could be improved from how it was when I first picked it up. I mention that because you actually have two sets of settings and from my experience installers rarely/never get it where it sounds best to you as it takes a little extra time to get it right.

I used this...This is a phenominal product...I have it on my M2...so it even matches my interior...It sounds as good as any head unit and its also a line driver so it also adds some juice to your amp.

Warning...You need to code out active sound or get rid of it....I got the BMS "Can Flap" that mutes ASD and opens/closed exhaust valve on demand...

But when your sub plays your active sound, it could easily blow your subs...and the volume control will do nothing to control the ASD...

I have the LCi2 Line/Driver LOC plus the HiFonics BX10 Pioneer Mono Class D 2400w Amp w a RF P3 12" Sub in a sealed box...boom mat sprayed under the carpeting in trunk and stuffed box with cotton...Sounds incredible...Noone believes its one sub...

BTW...You grab the 4 wires that come off the amp in the trunk that power the stock underseat subs....I dont remember specifically but they are fatter than all the other speaker wires and they were the same color on my m3 as my m2...brown/brown (white stripe) etc...

Make sure you dont cross your negatives and positives here...

The greatest thing about the LC2i unit is the GTO feature...No need for remote lead...So you can hook up a sub woofer in about 20 mins....Batt and OEM amp are both in trunk and the LOC sends out a 12v signal as soon as is gets any slight power from a speaker wire...

OHH BTW DIFF COLORS BUT I HAVE AN EXTRA IF YOU WANT IT IT JUST NEEDS $4 clip on amazon

Audio Control has been around for a long time and are top notch product. All my past audio system, I have always used their products. As DKM3Power said, its pretty simple, plug and play.

Did you test the LC2i in not needing the remote turn on from a power source? It was claimed that there wasn't enough current from the speakers, or it wasn't consistent enough, for it to acknowledge turn on.

Interesting. TECHNIC had told me that it wasn't possible and you had to run a remote trigger from a power source. It was easy to use the 12v accessory in the trunk to tap in to, but good to know.
