Time to Install ACS Springs ?

Question: is 9 hours to Install AC Schnizter Springs on my M4 a reasonable quote? This does not mean include an alignment. If not, what is reasonable? Thanks in advance!

My friend has been known to do it within an hour. 9 hours is pure rape. 3-4 taking time is more realistic.

ACS springs should take about as long to install as Eibach springs, because they're Eibach springs.

That's a pretty interesting comment. What evidence do you have to support that they are the same?

They're not identical, but ACS uses Eibach to manufacture most of their springs. They also use H&R and ZF Sachs.

No tuners or even OEM's manufacture their own springs.

I bet his "labor charge" is probably be $75 per hour....$75x9 hours=$675 ALONE on labor... RAPE!
I say best bet is go down south, plenty of shop.

The estimate was $1100 including alignment. I am still looking for shop here in Sacramento. Not very promising. Thanks to all for confirming my belief that 9 hours was too high.

A well established shop here in Charlotte also quoted me 9 hours for new spring installation, not including alignment (which was another 1.5 hours). When I didn't call him back the guy contacted me wanting to know my thoughts of his quote. I told him that I thought the labor seemed excessive so he goes and emails me a image using ALLDATA LLC which lists the spring installation for M4s at 9 hours. He said they use that program to quote all their work and that suspension work is not something you want to skimp on.

Needless to say I will not be using them as I called around other well known performance shops that confirmed that they can do it in about half the time. Definitely pays to call around.

I believe 9 hours is the book time. I had ACS springs installed on my M4 for $467 which included alignment. FWIW

Damm I installed mine in 2 hours. The rears literally take 30mins.

If you were by my house i'd install them for you for a small fee.

Yeah, that is way too high. I had springs, charge pipes, and downpipes installed in about 4 hours.
