It blends in well, and it's very secure. I recommend it.

It's also pretty easy to install.

I just bought the max 360 but haven't used it yet since my car is still in transit. Do you have any pics with it using the suction cup they give you? Have you used both and if so, which is better, blend mount or suction?

I didn't bother with the suction cup.

Which blend mount did you buy? The 007? Thanks for the photo, it confirms i made the right decision in buying a blendmount.

Yep, BMW-007. I also used a 15" MirrorTap .080" X .525" Large Tap to tap the Green/Brown (+12v switched) and the Brown/Black (ground) wires. The 15" is the perfect length.

I am completely inexperienced when it comes to handling this type of stuff. should i have a professional do it for me or was it that easy?

You can absolutely do it yourself. It only took me 45 minutes to install, and I adjusted the placement a few times. I recommend "lowering" the bracket a little bit from the stock height, it makes removing/refitting the detector a little easier.

Step 1: Split the black housing behind the mirror in half from center. Here is a picture of the inside so you can see where the clips are located. Be careful not to scratch anything.

Step 2: Push the Mirror Tap pins into the Green/Brown (+12v switched) and Brown/Black (ground) wires. Push firmly--you will feel them seat properly. Make sure you order the Large Tap (.080" X .525") or the pins won't be long enough to make contact.

At this point I turned the car on and plugged in the detector to make sure I had contact. I also zip-tied the Mirror Tap to the wire harness to make sure I didn't accidentally pull the pins out.

suction cup mounted above the iDrive screen looks like crap. get a blend mount. great detector (although it hasnt saved me yet, ive been driving around brooklyn so theres no way to exceed 40 mph).

Anyone else have an issue with the GPS signal coming and going? I assume it's cuz the mount and how close I have it to the rear view.

There is a slight delay acquiring the signal when I pull out of my garage, but after that I don't have any issues unless I drive through a tunnel.

Do you have the part numbers for the blendmount and the mirror tap. I want to make sure I order the correct ones.

My setup. I didnt want to go Blendmount bc it looked too out of place and easy target for crackheads here in the city

Suction cup is pretty damn strong. Lately with the temps here being pretty high it still hasnt fallen off due to the heat. It did fall off once but it was because I re-positioned it and dirt got on the gel adhesive. I just washed it and let it air dry and had no problems since.

Zero performance issues with the location either
