What's the earliest BMW pull ahead program a M was available for?

Have 9 months left on my lease of my M5. I have seen (once) a year pull ahead program, but I think most are 3-6 months. Any ideas if a >6 month pull ahead will be offered, and if not do you think i could get a 6 month pull ahead on my M5 for a X5M?

The ones I've seen the Ms were excluded. This would be good to know if available though.

M cars aren't part of the pull ahead program. If you have a good relationship with your dealer, they might be able to help you out though.

Had several dealers tell me they are. Weird. I figure if BMW wants my $$$ they'll let me "pull ahead". If they don't, I might just get the Macan GTS and suffer the HP deficiency, but know I can usually trade up from my lease after year 2 of 3.

You can trade your car in before the lease is over.

Basically the pull ahead program pays off your remaining lease payments so its a wash. M cars usually are at a higher lease, that's why I said if you have a good relationship with the dealer, they will pay off the remaining lease.

Porsche's pull ahead works in a similar way, but its not really that great and depends on the dealership.

A friend in BMW told me last year BMWFS has severely clamped down on the pull ahead program. It slowly began spiraling out of control, as everyone and his friend at the dealerships was putting in for pull aheads on any car they thought they could squeeze by. BMWFS was hemorrhaging money, and the economic downturn we recently went through, put a squeeze on them they didn't care for. Some cars can now simply be applied for as a pull ahead, others need special authorization from someone higher up in the BMW organization.

When we took delivery of our current 2015 i3 BEV, it took several weeks of negotiations to get the car it replaced pulled ahead. We weren't expecting it to be approved, but a month after taking delivery of the i3, and well into January of this year, BMW decided to let us pull ahead the old car, that was siting unused in our driveway.

We recently turned in our X6 xDrive50i three months early (near end of a 36 mos lease) for a new X6M we custom ordered from the factory. They pulled our lease ahead three months with no issues (albeit not an "M" lease we were turning in).

Worked out well, we ordered it ~5 months prior to lease end and it arrived almost 3 months exactly prior to lease end (and I expect dealer would've covered a few more weeks if needed).

I've scoured the entire internet for this answer as it pertains to BMW.

The answer I've found is that BMW(FS) has excluded the 'M' models from every pull-ahead program in recent memory. One dealer told me that they remember them offering it once and that was it (over 4+ years ago).

Don't get your hopes up as BMW is hoping to pull every penny from your wallet on these leases because M cars depreciate the hardest, are the most expensive to CPO and can be a tough resell against a new one.

I asked my SA yesterday at BMW of Dallas and he told me the pull ahead program right now is only for regular 3 and 5 series. Not M's.

The general manager of the dealership can put in a request for an exception for your specific car/deal, if it's within 6 months of the end of your lease. BMWFS doesn't have to accept the request, but if you're an excellent longstanding customer, many times they will grant the request. There's no harm in trying, if they say no, you continue on as planned to the end of your lease.

good to know. Thanks UrbanExtant. I need to start doing 24 month leases. Lol. Soon the X3M will be out and I'll be salivating over that!

Glad I could help. This scenario was what happened with us beginning of this year. Our third car was being replaced, and we took delivery of an i3 in December, expecting to just hang onto the car it was replacing, until its lease expired in April, as it wasn't eligible for any pull ahead programs. Our GM put in a request for a pull ahead exception, and it was approved by BMWFS.
