Philadelphia/NJ area shop for spring installation?

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a shop in the Philadelphia area for installing a set of H&R Springs? I got quotes from AWE tuning and Autobahn MotorSports (both near Horsham, PA), for close to $1000-1200!!! for installation and alignment?!?!

Thanks for any info...

1000 to 1200 for a set of spring install? what???
a proper install will cost between 100 to 300 bucks MAX (only installation).
It does vary depending on the shop but i've never heard of even a good/famous/popular tuning shop costing more than 300 dollars for just a set of spring installl

a proper alignment is usually 50~100 bucks MAX.

That's what I said! Shops local to me, including all the ones mention in this thread by other members, are charging $95-$115/hr. Some are charging more because I'm bringing my own parts. AWE, AutoBahn, RT tuning all said they will charge for 6-7 hours of labor. Add in $100-150 for alignment and that's $1k

I think I paid $300 for spring installation for my s2k!

Helix gave me the best estimate- $95/hr, 4 hr job...

Thanks for the input

what? that even more amazes me... 6~7 hrs for a spring install? hahaha, isn't AWE tuning pretty well known for VAG guys? that's pretty ridiculous and disappointing

i almost said just drive up here to NJ and go to ACM, much better job, great pricing, got install done in less than 2 hrs ready to go, won't bitch up the $$ because you brought your own parts (never heard of shops billing $$ more for bringing own parts in my 3~4 car tuning history), but you might need to make an appointment with Matt

i'm glad you found one with the right price around your area

I know couple shops in Philly area if you want the info. I've been taking my E93 to them for all the mechanical jobs.
