Not sure where to post, but would like some responses fast in case the car sells...I found a local slicktop E90 6MT '08 55kmi $28k firm. It's a two owner and the 2nd owner does not seem to be an enthusiast nor know too much about the car (he's owned it ~1yr). It's a private sale. Under the 1st owner's ownership, an intake plenum bolt was attempted to be removed and it broke. A valve cover gasket was also resealed, and a PPI yesterday showed that non-OEM seal was used, and that it's still weeping (but not badly and it can be left alone). In fact, the seller showed me an inspection report that he had done at 49kmi and the report showed weeping but no repairs were needed to be done. The PPI showed no other engine/drive-ability issues (there are other issues such as cosmetic, brakes, tires, etc), but not too bad. My main concern is these engine issues which the seller is claiming as cosmetic. What are your thoughts? |

I would find out what it would cost to repair the weeping and subtract from price. With that amount of miles, I would also have the RB checked just to be sure. Lastly have someone you trust do a PPI.
