How did I get towed?

Parked in a parking garage for 2 days this week. Garage was doing some maintenance on the second day and had to tow my car to another garage because it was in the way. When I picked up the car, the driver seat belt was wrapped through the steering wheel and latched. The car was locked up tight.

So, how did the towing company:
1) get in my car
2) tow it
3) lock it back up after they got in it
4) do all this without setting off the alarm

Inquiring minds want to know...

slim jim open ur drivers door, wrap seat belt around steering wheel, tow car, manually lock door, and alarm blaring while all this was happening. the seat belt wrap around steering wheel is usually done to keep the front wheels straight while towing, sign of car being lifted via front axle, or rear axle and have the front tires dragging on the ground. how they got in is ur least of ur worries, prey they at least put ur car onto dollies and not drag ur car with one of the axles on the ground which could potentially mess up ur center diff. that is y AWD vehicles should ALWAYS be towed via a) flat bed truck or at the very least b) put the wheels on dollies.

I've seen the jimmy open method. I'm thinking how it would affect the long term structure of the door since they essentially pry it open and that warps the frame.

I would ask the folks who towed your car. You have a right to know. I'd be riled.

U can jimmy open the door by slipping the slim Jim in between the window n the seals n hook onto the rod that connect to the door lock, don't need to pull on the door frame to open door from inside door handle

Not a good sign. I would have been livid!

You can not tow these cars either by the front or rear wheels due to the differential from my understanding. They fact that they had to tie your belt around the steering wheel means it wasn't on a flat bed...

That's definitely disturbing on a few levels. I'd be getting in touch with the towing company.
