brake pad wear

Ran Time Trials at Road Atlanta this weekend and when I removed my track pads (Pagid RS-29s) the front pads were worn at an angle (like one piston is pushing harder than the other). Anyone seen this before and know what causes it?

I really don't have any issues with the RS-29s Some of the best pads I've used. (And I've been through a lot)
I do get some angle, but not much.
What I normally do is after 2 days of running, (And if the rotors are in good shape) swap left to right, inner to outer.
If there is too much grooving, I don't swap, just leave them be.
I also run cooling ducts...

I have bigger issues with my "Tires worn at an angle!" Stock alignment stinks on these cars.

Some taper front-to-back is normal. The leading edge might get a couple of mm more worn than the trailing edge by the time the pads are done. If it's more than that you might have some kind of problem.

I also observed tapered wear on my front RS29. I guess it is the drawback of multi piston calipers. On my first set, I only noticed when the pads were worn, so the taper was quite significant, about ~4mm from leading edge to trailing edge. Since then, I swap the pads inside out when they are half worn. This has resolved the issue for me.

I measured a 5.5 mm spread on leading to trailing edge of the front pads (RS29).

5.5mm is a problem. That is like 1/2 the pad! Shouldn't be that bad. Normal would be like 2mm max if you never rotate.
FYI I measure pad thickness at every swap. The BMW pads are really small length wise.
