Traffic warning - how to remove?
Yesterday I had a traffic warning appear in the instrument cluster, and would not shut off for 10+ miles. Of course I noticed nothing out of the ordinary (which is always the case with these warnings), but for it to persist clearly outside of the original supposed area is a bit ridiculous. Plus not being able to shut it off is annoying. Any ideas on how to make these cars perform like cars, and not driving computers? Am realizing more and more that the F80 is too computerized for my tastes. Maybe I'm in the minority here...

Um....use iDrive and clear it. It's not that difficult. Whenever they pop up, I read what it says, decide whether or not to choose the alternate route, accept or dismiss. Those RTTI updates have saved my ass a few times. I welcome them.

I have not found a way to clear them myself. I select OK under notifications but the yellow hazard triangle with warning stays on the dash. I have had this warning go away several times but there are times like you where it just does not go away even after 5+ miles of driving and the only way i have gotten it to clear is when i stop and restart the car.

I had this same thing happen this past weekend and I wasn't even using the navigation. Went into I-drive, read the message and the stupid warning kept coming back up.

^ Exactly. I wasn't using navigation either. This isn't an iDrive thing; it's an invasion-of-instrument-cluster thing!
P.S. I live in southern California and don't need my car to tell me there's traffic around.

I live in SoCal as well. If it bothers you that much, maybe you can code it out.

Haha - now let's take that a step further. I would appreciate an "AMG nearby" warning or "American nu-muscle nearby" warning so I can have time to switch into M2 mode and spank a competitor.

This must be a software glitch then; or really bad UX. There should be a way to enable/disable what I would term as "road notifications".

Hmm... I don't recall if you can independently select the data types shown in the LCD on the instrument cluster vs what's shown int he HUD. If I remember correctly, you can select the data types under vehicle settings, display, something, something. You might start there.
Granted what you encountered was probably more to do with bad RTTI data than anything else.... Cheers,
