Its not going to give you any additional power if that's what you are expecting. Blowing chargepipes seems to be more common on the 3 series platform. I've yet to see any tuned 5 series or X5's with the N55 post about a blown chargepipe.

Blown wise, I got a few customer with E70/E71 N55 damaged theirs by the flange. The weak point on BMW chargepipe is the flange to the throttle body. That's why they change the design on the B58 motor. The flange on B58 chargepipe is held down by 3 bolts instead just the C-Clip on the N20/N26/N54/N55 motors.
