Extended warranty pricing

Believe I was getting gouged. About to get a 17 x5 35i and want some second opinions. A 4 yr/90k was $2195

I have the 100K extended maintenance on mine (previous owner bought it) and my service advisor says it was worth $2,100.

If that's for the OEM BMW maintenance plan then the pricing is not excessive.

Garage List
Each oil change is $75 buying factory oil and filter. Filter set is $80 for two. Wipers are $25 for a set. Assuming you're buying all OEM stuff not even from the dealer.

So 50,000 (total over the 4xk included plan) / 10,000 (interval) = 5 oil changes + 5 filter sets + 5 wipers = $375 + $400 + $125 = $900.

Expect at least one set of rotors and brake pads in that period if not more depending on how you're driving, $2000 sounds like a pretty good deal. And if I'm not mistaken, maintenance isn't even included anymore, so great deal.

Then you're really not getting gauged.
