Rear Brake Pads
I just got rear brake pad service notification after 25K miles but visually the pads look OK. Is it possible to reset the annoying warning sign myself without coding?
Thoughts on approx pricing for replacement at dealer? Many thanks! |

Service can reset after measurement (they enter measurement value). As notification is based on miles only.

I had same thing happen in my 328i and it ended up being a wire that had come loose from the sensor... replacement of sensor fixed it. They think a piece of road debris hit it while driving and severed the wire. There is a reason you got that message... The car isn't confused. Get it checked out.

The service indicator can be reset as said above. You can have your dealer do this, or you can do it through the instrument cluster.

The brakes on my E70 lasted about 47,000 miles before needing to be replaced, but I like to coast. So far I'm at 28,000 miles and the brakes all seem fine. I've actually been braking harder on this car, but they're still going quite well. I just hope they need replacing before the warranty goes out.
