Question about showing album art/playlist

I have a 2016 M3 (build date 4/2016) with, I believe, the 4.2 NBT EVO iDrive. I three phones paired to the car. When I start the car, my phone automatically starts playing music from my iPhone if I have that option selected. However, the screen always returns to the main Media Devices page (showing my iPhone as the selected bluetooth device) after the car is shut down rather than displaying the album art/playlist page. To get there, I have to scroll down to my phone and push the iDrive knob. Is this normal?

A second question is about volume. It seems the volume defaults to a different level when I restart my car, rather than remembering the last setting. Is this also normal?

Sorry if these are newb questions - long-time BMW driver, first iDrive. I did search the site and the iDrive owner's manual, but couldn't find answers.

Thanks!
