Antenna Failure (Nav, Assist) - Anybody Else?
My 2017 X5M has ~6000 miles. With ~1500 miles, I experienced erratic navigation and SOS failure. This was concluded to be a faulty antenna (I believe this is listed under a service bulletin), and replaced at ~4500 miles. Recently, the same symptoms have presented. Given the new antenna, they suspect a wiring issue (which seems logical). I'm now going to have to drop the vehicle off for several days, while they pull the ceiling lining out, etc. to explore the wiring system.
I recall reading someone else here with a faulty antenna. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this problem that wasn't resolved with the antenna replacement. If so, what was the issue and solution? Thanks.

Seems like forever when this happened. If I recall, they replaced the original antenna. When the symptoms returned, it was eventually found that they did not properly seal the new antenna. This allowed water to damage the replacement antenna and wiring. It was subsequently fixed, and I have experienced no additional problems. Hope this helps.
