No-line steering wheel swap

Hello guys,

sorry for starting new thread, bud I did my research on this forum and couldn't find exact answer to my question.

Next week I pick up 2015 X5 with 25k km here in Europe, quite nicely equipped (extended nappa, HUD, auxiliary heating, panoramic roof, heated s.wheel...), but the only downside is the basic steering wheel. Thin and ugly.

I asked the AD how much for changing the steering wheel for the sports one (I don't need paddles) and was told that swapping is impossible.

I hope the AD is wrong. Can you please help me figure out this situation? I can PM you the VIN code if it helps.

wow....multi-contour seats, leather dashboard....and THAT steering wheel? Strange combo of options they put in that car. I'm switching out my steering wheel too. Should be no problem.

Hmm, hard to say on where you are.
Normally any independent shop should be able to knock it out.

If I were you, I would try to find a independent specialty BMW shop and have them do it. Dealer will overcharge you anyways.

I can tip you a good service, I enver use the ones in CZ

you must go to Germany

and yes, its totaly possible, in fact you can even order the M alcantara one from the official acceesory catalogue.... you will need new airbag and coding
