Old Configurator Gone? NOOOOO!

Is the old BMW USA configurator gone???

I used to go to http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/content/byo/default.aspx but now it's redirecting me to new configurator!

Tell me it ain't so!

I just used the old one a few days ago so this has to be a very recent change - that is, the new one was out there, but the old URL was still active.

Used to get so tired of the US configurator that I would just load up BMW.de and use that site for visualization! That one is still up and running.

So YOU'RE the one person that likes it ... I wondered who they'd market-tested it with.

I've not seen a change recently, the link in the opening post is where I went for the past weeks and also what I get if I open it directly via bmwusa.com - someone got screenshots to show the difference?

That's the new shitty one that's been up on the main page for a few months, maybe more. The old one was way better and they left it active at the link above up until last weekish, but now the link to the old configurator just redirects you to the new one.

bastards.

Now the only decent configurator is the european ones, but it's much harder to use because it doesn't have the US configs and it's not as nice with the 360s, etc.

This new configurator probably looks great to you if your brain is addled by the 4th stage of syphilis.

Plus Wah likes it.

It is strange that BMW would choose to remove features such as the interior 360 or multiple-view angles, etc.

Maybe it will get a revision soon?

I'm certain the reason for the change is so that the configurator is more touchscreen friendly. More people browse using tablets and phones these days.

'Series > M' then 'Body Styles > Convertible'

Or just scroll down to the Ms and keep clicking the car off to the left.

I am a huge f-body and Trans Am fan, but it is pretty comical how low performance those cars actually were when new, despite the looks.
