Water Injection - Failure

Experienced failure of Water Injection system last week, no fault showing only noticed due to a lack of water usage (car still in Running in period)

Took 5 days for the entire pump/solenoid assembly to be shipped from Germany to local dealer.

Wow. That must have been hard to notice as I never added water during my break in. About 5 tanks of gas but the level did go down a bit....

When I first got my car I did buy 24 bottles of that water. It was only extra stupid cago to have In car. I did not use anything at Nurburgring or Spa, and I am not the slowerst guy on track eighter.

This water thing Is blown out and It accually not a Issue. Like Nurburgring... Its never free of cars on track! Only If no cars one could go fast anyway.

If It was no cars, well then we need to go BMW factory speed around that track...and It need to be 30+ degrees well then we might get out of water In 4-5 laps, but hey..fuel Is also out and emty then. But more so the cup tires Cant handle that factory pace more than 1 lap, after that preformance will drop.

There Is a reason Porsche did change tires on new gen 2 GT3 every lap at the fast nur when they look for fast lap. There Is a reason all factory rekord laps Is driver way early In the morning (cold temp) and then no other cars on track.

I did 50 laps on SPA and did not use a drop of water, well this water thing I neve ever feel.

Sport auto did mention they almost was out of water after 2 fast laps when 30 degrees on ring. Almost do Not mean out of water. Like fuel Is out after 4-5 fast laps anyway.

On the track however, I use almost 1 tank water for 1 tank gas and used 2 tanks of gas in 5 20min sessions in my last outing, for reference.

Same here. Just had my 1200 break in service completed and still had plenty of water in the tank.

Did they provide you with reasons of the failure op? Or do they just replace the system?

The dealership were back and forth with BMW UK HQ for about 3 days trying different things, in the end they decided to change out complete assembly and put it down to an internal failure. I will speak to the Master Technician next week and see if he can provide a bit more information.
