"Activate phone" Blueetoth problem?
Hi all,
Having problems syncronyzing my phone with the car. The units find each other, then it says "Please wait" and after a while it says Activate Phone. Tried with another phone and it did work, I'm using a SonyEricsson P990i. Doesn't it work with symbains or is there a setup on my phone which isn't correct? Do you have any thoughts? |

You should not have to do anything on your phone besides putting in the 4 digit pairing code that can be found on a white elaminated peice of paper that you should have gotten with your user manuals.
I have only paired an iPhone and a few Samsungs. I have never had a real problem, you can check this out to see if your phone is on the "supported" list. www.wireless4bmw.com

Thank you for the reply. The thing is that I have tried with other phones and it works (after entering the code). I just don't get it why it doesn't want to connect with my phone, after all if the phone has BT it should work.. Hmmm

I think I read somewhere that with some phones you have to turn on bluetooth each time you want to use bluetooth or have to do something or other each time you want to connect. Fortunately, iPhones and Motorola Razrs automatically reconnect each time IF you leave the bluetooth power on.

bluetooth is different with every phone. there is no bluetooth standard. so just cause its bluetooth does not mean it will work. go to the website stated above and pick a phone from your carrier
