F or G
I'm in the middle of working out a deal for an X5 50i and wondering about your views on buying the F series now or waiting for the G model. Seems like the gremlins have mainly been worked out of the 50i engine (except oil consumption perhaps) and other X5 general issues and I'm generally reluctant to buy the first year of a new generation of a car. Alternatively, the G improvements and styling may make it worth it.
I shall appreciate your views/feedback. Thanks. Duke

Always boils down to time and money.
Do you want/need the car "now" or can you wait? Do you want to save $$ by dealing for the outgoing model or pay more for the new body and advances in tech? Worries about mechanical issues wouldn't play into my decision as that's what new car warranties are for. If you keep your cars for a long time, I'd "splurge" and wait for the G.

Same here. Even with the warranty, spending a bunch of time dropping off your car for things to get fixed gets old fast!

If not by all means get an F15, they are pretty good even in comparison to the all new X3. |
